CULTURAL NOTES
IN POTS OR BASKETS
1) Use good quality (open) potting mix - pots must be well drained 2) Water as required, roots not to sit in water 3) Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser (eg Osmocote) 4) Pinch out growing tips to shape during growing period 5) Prune zonalsand regals to one third size in autumn, prune ivies to shape as required 6) Control rust in zonals by spraying under leaves with a fungicide spray (eg Baycor), remove affected leaves 7) Position for four hours sun or good light daily 8) For best results ensure plants are protected from heavy rain and hot summer temperatures
IN THE GARDEN
1) Beds must be well drained or mounded. Soil should be light - add up to 50% sand in heavy soil 2) Water deeply. At most times of the year once weekly is sufficient 3) Fertilise with a complete fertiliser in spring and autumn 4) Pinch out growing tips to shape during growing period 5) Prune zonals and regals to one third size in autumn, prune ivies to shape as required 6) Control rust in zonals by spraying under leaves with a fungicide spray (eg Baycor) remove affected leaves 7) Position for at least four hours sun or good light daily
